Water continues to be a theme at the Daily Photo Game and I decided to follow suit. This image of water falling off of a high-end water feature captivates me. I love the way the late afternoon sunlight rakes across the drops providing a surreal curtain from which to shoot through. Additionally, the feature itself casts a shadow at upper right adding another layer of light play to the image.
Captured at 1/4000 of a second, it is a cool example of water frozen in time.
The inclusion of real world subjects, the human figure and the trees, provides additional context and form to the image and makes it feel other worldly, yet at the same time, known.
I like the interplay between this image and Robert's "Water Play" post. The specular highlights of his nocturnal shot dovetails nicely with the water drops from my image. Add to that the late afternoon sun contributing warm light to my scene and I think they "play" well together.
